He is the President of the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in the UK (KSEAUK).

He gained a PhD at Imperial College London. He is a senior researcher at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing, the

Co-Chair Dr. Ki-Jun Lee
He is the President of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST). He earned a PhD in chemical engineering

at University of Washington. He was the president of Seoul National University (1998-2002).

He has been an emeritus Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Seoul National University (2003-Present).

He will speak during the KOFST session (Thursday, August 6, 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Woo-Sik Kim is an Invited distinguish professor at KAIST and the Chief director of Creativity Engineering Institute.

He earned a PhD in chemical engineering at Yonsei University.

He was the president of Yonsei University (2000-2004). He also served for government as a Presidential
Chief of Staff (2004-2005), and a Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Technology (2006-2008).

He has been an emeritus professor at Yonsei University (2005-Present).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Yul Choi is the President of Korea Green Foundation.

He has been worked for Korean Anti-Pollution Organization. He also worked for The Korean Federation for Environment Movement.

He received National Recognition in Commemoration of World Environmental Day in 1997 and
Goldman Environmental Prize in 1995.


 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Soo Sam Kim is the Vice-president of KOFST.

He is also the Vice-president of Hanyang University. He gained a PhD in civil engineering at Chung-Ang University.

He was a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Chung-Ang University
(1981-2001). He will speak during the KOFST session (Thursday, August 6, 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Chang-Sun Hong is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at KAIST.

He received his PhD in applied mechanics from Pennsylvania State University. He was the president of KAIST (2003-2004).

He also served as a member of the National Assembly (2004-2008).

His primary research interest is in the area of advanced composite materials and structures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Hyun Soon Lee is the vice-chairman and CTO of Hyundai Motor.

He obtained his PhD in mechanical engineering from State University of New York - Stony Brook University.

He received CTO Award by Korea Industrial Technology
Association (2008) and Gold Tower
Order of Industrial Service Merit by Korean government (2005). He will speak at the plenary session I

(Thursday, August 6, 2009).

 

 

 

 

Dr. Soon Heung Chang is a Vice-president of KAIST.

He received his PhD in nuclear engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

He was honored as a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) in 2006. He served as a member of International Nuclear Safety Advisory
Group of IAEA (1992-1999), a member of Presidential Advisory Committee on Science and Technology (1998-1999),

and the Chairman of Advisory Committee on Nuclear Safety (2001-2003). His main research interest is
nuclear reactor safety analysis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Min-Suk Kang is the Head of Information Technology Research Center of LG Electronics (LGE).

He earned his PhD in computer science from University College London (UCL).

He has contributed to the development of mobile application, home application & service, speech recognition, robotics,

and innovative UI.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Ji-Jong Jeon is a Senior Manager of LG Electronics (LGE) and the Head of Europe R&D Lab.

He is supposed to make a speech on mobile technology evolution which will cover MC R&D introduction, mobile market trend, key evolution

Mr. Cameron Johnstone is the Director of Energy System Research Unit at University of Strathclyde (Scotland).

He has been developing a new generation of marine turbine that could harness energy from the sea even in the very deepest waters.

He won the EPSRC Science and Innovation Award (2005).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Chang-Duk Kong is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Chosun University.

He gained a PhD at Osaka Prefecture University. His main research topics are the structure of aircraft and a gas turbine.

He has served as an vice president of the Korea society for aeronautics and space sciences (KSAS)

(also ex-president of the Korea society of propulsion engineers).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Sung Joo Park is a professor at KAIST Business School (1980-Present).

He earned his PhD in system engineering at Michigan State University (1978). His main research topics are information system and DSS.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Sang-Soo Kwak is a Principal Researcher at KRIBB.

He earned his PhD in Plant Biochemistry at The University of Tokyo. His main research topics are study of antioxidation mechanism in plant cells and

its application to develop transgenic plants with enhanced traits. He has been in charge of the Korea-China collaboration project on combating

Dr. Joon Weon Seok is the President of the Verein Koreanischer Naturwissenschaftler und Ingenieure in der BRD e.V. (VeKNI).

Dr. Chang Hoon Jun is the President of the Association des Scientifiques Coreens en France (ASCoF).

He earned his PhD degree in electrical engineering at Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France). He has been working as a senior engineer of Plasma Physics Lab.

Dr. Man Wook Han is the President of the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in Austria (KOSEAA).

He obtained a PhD in mechanical engineering at Vienna University of Technology. At present, he is a professor of the university. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Andrew Grant is a Senior lecturer at University of Strathclyde. He has studied on renewable energy conversion systems dates from the late 1970’s. He has contributed the development of small novel devices for the utilisation of energy from ocean waves and marine currents. Subsequently diversified into
wind turbine aerodynamics, and the integration of
renewable energy conversion systems into networks at
local and regional levels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Bill Dunster is an award winning eco architect.

 

He designed BedZED, and since 1999, practice has completed number of award winning zero carbon/ low carbonbuilding projects . He has also taught at the Architectural Association and Kingston University and regularly speaks at a
range of seminars and conferences all over the world.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Eui-Chan Jeon is a Professor of Sejong University and a Member of Presidential Committee on Green Growth.

 

He earned his PhD in Environmental Management at The Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Seoul National University. His main research topics are greenhouse gas inventories and strategies against Climate Change.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Gook-Sup Song is a Professor at Bucheon University (1981-Present), and the vice president of Korean Society of Living Environmental System. He received PhD in Architectural Engineering at Chung-Ang University. He has investigated human responses in various building environments, and one of experts in the field of the under floor heating system; ONDOL.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Heung-Jin Choi is the Director-General of Climate Change Policy at Presidential Committee on Green Growth.

 

He has worked for Korea Ministry of Environment since 1987. He earned his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Delaware, USA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alexander G. Kemp is a Professor of Petroleum Economics at the University of Aberdeen, and is the Director of Aberdeen University Petroleum and Economic Consultants (AUPEC) which provides consultancy service in petroleum economics. For many years he has been a consultant on petroleum contracts and legislation.

 

He was a specialist adviser to the UK House of Commons Select Committee on Energy (1980-1992). In 1993 he waappointed as the UK Government Energy Advisory Panel. He was awarded the OBE in 2006 for services to the oil and gas industries

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Marco Sbarrini is currently the Director of Programs for LG Europe R&D.

 

His task is to control the overall delivery process from the handset specification down to the acceptance, to supervise the production chain and maintain relationships with chipset vendors. He was awarded the second prize at the World Graph Drawing Symposium 98 (1998), the LG gold medal as best R&D center (2007), and the LG award as Global Innovation Leader (2008).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Alma Hodzic is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Her research includes design of better interfaces between all types of reinforcing fibres and corresponding matrices, with utilization of new research tools in nanotechnology. Dr. Hodzic manages Composite Systems Innovation Centre and she is actively involved with editorial and review panels in 15 international scientific journals. She also serves as Intreader on the panel of Australian Research Council and as External Examiner for Universities of Ulster and Salford.

Ms. Sung-Ja Chang was the President of the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (2003-2005).

Dr. Sun-Hwa Hahn is the chief of Department of Policy Research in Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).

 

She obtained her PhD in computer science from KAIST in 1997. She directs research on future strategy, mid and long-term development planning, and provision of policy support to government planning on science and technology

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Walter Wehrmeyer is Reader and deputy director of Centre for Environmental Strategy in University of Surrey.

 

 

He is also editor of Greener Management International, sits on the Editorial Board of Environment, Development and Sustainability, and is Co-editor, Case Studies of the Journal oIndustrial Ecology. His current interest cover organisational approaches to innovation and sustainable development, participatory approaches to decision-making, and corporate social responsibility, in particular, the role of culture and ethics in defining and forming business strategies.
